World Sight Day Challenge 2011
Thursday, October 13, 2011 3:37 PMToday is World Sight Day!
To improve the quailty of life of people who are needlessly blind or vision impaired simply because they do not access to an eye examination and a pair of glasses.
A single pair of glasses can really transform the life of someone living without access to baisc eye care.
I did help out in vision screening at Singapore Polytechnic Optometry Centre. It was fun! I got to see a lot of proficient optometrists helping out as well. It was a little over crowded. Haha
I was initially the "floater" (helper for any section that needed help) but decided to volunteer to do Tonometry (measuring of intra-ocular pressure) before the start of vision screening.
Hehe it is time to brush up my dialect Hokkien! It was rather shameful because I could not even speak a proper sentence properly. It was mixed with English and Mandarin. Quite terrible :(
The Refraction Subjective Room was rather cool because I didn't realise the senior optometrists in Singapore were all multilingual.
Okay I must aim to be like one of them! Haha
Anyway do make donations to the world sight day fund raising project to help give sight to the poor. Many are not as fortunate as us. A pair of correct glasses can help change a person's life.

Hehe black T shirt! I saw a similar one but in red colour in the website. Rah!
I want the red!
Ciaos! :D
